Georgia vs. Florida, what a historical weekend in college football history. Although historical for being a great weekend to party hard and have a cocktail or two, or three. It has also been historical for Georgia to lose.
I would suggest that we were not as embarrassed as we were last year, but losing to Florida is the worst. And to make matters even worse, Tim Tebow, with his "high and almighty-ness" broke the great Herschel Walker's record for rushing touchdowns. Not only was this a big blow to our history, but it only made matters worse that we were the team that allowed him to reach such a feat.
History always has a way of repeating it self. I just wish that in this one instance...it would try and not.

The Ultimate Disappointment
Georgia Football has taken a turn for the worst. The loss against Tennessee was not only the ultimate disappointment, but it was completely unexpected.
This season was expected to a "rebuilding" year, but with Cox (who is a 5th year senior) in the quaterback spot and the #1 wide-reciever in the nation, Green, this was not the start UGA fans ever dreamed of. UGA is now 3-3. This is the first time in the Mark Richt era that we have ever lost 3 games this early in the season.
Personally, I am shocked that the team has been performing this way. I am so disappointed in our performances the past two weeks. Unfourtunately, the season is only going to get tougher. We still have to face Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech. Florida is the #1 team in the nation, Auburn was undefeated up until this weekend and Georgia Tech is the #1 team in the ACC with their unstoppable option offense. So this already beaten and battered team has a long road ahead of them.
I can only hope that UGA can turn things around. We have a fairly strong offensive line, running backs and recievers, but in the SEC without a deffense your pretty much screwed. We unfortunately do not have a solid defense and it is causing us much pain. Lets hope that Richt, Martinez and Bobo can get it together. If they don't...it will be interesting to see what coaching changes are made in the offseason.

Finally
I was finally able to attend my first UGA game of the season and it was a blast. Even though we were not able to pull this game out, as we have recently, it was still a fun time.
Although I have been to plenty of games in the past, this was the first game where I was sitting in the student section. It was as great as I imagined it would be and I am excited about the home games to come.

The UGA v Ariz St game via Text Message
Being that I was at the Sugarland concert on Saturday, I did not attend the UGA v Arizona State game. It is an interesting concept for someone who is so into football to rely on a text message for details. Being that most people short hand all their text messages, it was very frustrating for me on Saturday. It was also tough knowing that we were winning, then falling behind and playing catch up till the last few seconds.
Physically being at a game and watching a game on TV is something that one gets use to and comes to love. But, I do not recommend relying on text messages for game details. I am, however, glad that we pulled yet another one out!

A Nail Biter
The South Carolina v Georgia game was just that, a nail biter. As fans, we have all come to know and expect a close, low scoring game when it comes to this old rivalry. But to all of our surprise this was one of the highest scoring games between these two teams to date.
This type of game is one that you want to, but don't want to watch. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you just know that the next play could make, or break it for your team. This game was also one that you had to watch from beginning to end. It was like an action or suspense movie, if you missed one part or one line you were lost throughout the rest of the movie. This game was that intense and I am so glad that we came out victorious.
This was just what U.G.A needed after losing to O.S.U.

Movie Review, "All About Steve"
OK...this was not my pick at the movie theatres, but when your with my sister and my Grandmother that all kind of goes down the drain.
I was very skeptical about this movie. I was not sure if it was going to be just another sill comedy or whether it was actually going to have some meaning to it.
Well I was pleasantly surprised. This movie was actually really funny and had a good story to go along with it. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses and Bradley Cooper is not so bad to look at either.
In the movie Bullock is a "know-it-all" cross word puzzle developer, who is literally like a walking encyclopedia in this movie. Cooper is a camera man for a major television network, who is shallow and is out for one thing in a woman. The two meet on a blind date and from there on out Bullock is obsessed with Cooper.
After their so called "date" she begins following Cooper and his crew around. Throughout her journey, Bullock encounters very interesting people and situations. This is also where the plot thickens and Bullock is finally able to see the truth about Cooper and her self.
In the end Bullock is finally able to see the true side of Cooper, that he really is not into her. She is also able to discover that even though she is different, there are people in this world that will accept you for who you are.
I really enjoyed this movie. It kept me laughing, along with the entire theatre. I recommend this to anyone that is in the mood for a good laugh.

"Somebodies"
The "Somebodies" episodes that we viewed in class today were mildly funny and entertaining. I found that the pilot episode did a good job of introducing the characters. It is evident from the pilot episode that "Scottie" is the main character. The pilot also revealed some issues that would be dealt with throughout the rest of the episodes. The main issue being that "Scottie" is one of his only friends that is not getting ready to finish school. I did find myself enjoying the pilot and interested in what was coming in the second episode.
The second episode was much better than the pilot. In this episode the audience is really able to understand the direction of the main character. It is more evident in this episode that "Scottie" is trying to separate himself from the distractions of his friends and surroundings, so that he is able to concentrate on his school work. Although he finds himself with harassing neighbors it is obvious that "Scottie" is trying to find a way to succeed and beat the odds.

A Disappointing Beginning
As we all know by now UGA lost it's season opener, Saturday, to the Cowboys of Oklahoma State. It was a disappointing beginning to a long football season. Being that UGA has not lost a season opener since Mark Richt has been here, this is a new experience and feeling for the fans and players.
Although our defense put on a great fight and held OSU to only 24 points, Saturday. It was our offense that failed to deliver and take advantage of our defenses success. Hopefully, this game will stand as a lesson and booster for the rest of the season. The SEC is the toughest conference in the NCAA and we can all only hope that UGA will turn this season around, quickly.

Saturday is the day
This weekend will kick off the 2009 NCAA Football season. Not only will the UGA team start, but many others from around the country will embark on a fun filled and exciting season. Although I will not be attending this game. It is in Oklahoma. I like my fellow football fans will gather at a location to view the game with many of my friends and family. This gathering will be the first of many and they are always the same. Rowdy fans (not all UGA fans) together in one place probably having a drink or two and just hoping that their teams does not fall victim to the other. I do not foresee any Oklahoma State fans being in my group this weekend, but that does not mean the nerves won't be present.
I sometimes wonder if the players know how nervous us fans are? I would say that I am sweaty nervous before any UGA game. I am just hoping, praying that they play well and execute every single play to the best of their abilities.
I hope you all will be tuning in on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for the start of the season...lets just hope that its worth the wait.

2009 Little League World Series
The LLWS is taking place now in Williamsport, PA. This league consists of teams from all over the world, ages 11 to 13. In watching these games I have been completely amazed by the talent and determination of these young boys. At times I find it hard to believe that they are not all cracking under the pressure of winning and making smart decisions on the field.
I also find it motivational to watch these young guys play. If we all had to focus and determination as these 11 and 13 year olds have, we just might be able to conquer some of our biggest fears in life. I also have found their passion for sports contagious and it will be interesting to see how far some of these kids go in the world of baseball.
(If no one else has been watching these games you all should check it out. The team from GA is going into the final round and it would be pretty cool if they won it all.)

Today is the day
Its August 19 and at 12 noon today all UGA students can request tickets to all the home games and away games. I am so excited. This day means that the season is approaching and its easy to see that all the students are getting excited about the season! Hopefully I and many others can get the tickets they want and be able to enjoy another great season between the hedges!!

It's almost here...
I have been a sports fan my whole life. I can remember from a young age watching sports with my grandfather. My favorite NCAA football team is the Georgia Bulldogs. I am attending UGA this fall and I am SOOO excited about this season.
This season should be an interesting one for UGA fans and SEC teams. Florida has been the dominate force in the SEC and the nation for the past 2 years and they show zero signs of slowing down. After UGA was pre-ranked #1 last year all sights were set on Athens, Ga. for a remarkable year. Even though UGA fell short of a BCS Title the season wasn't a total loss.
Even though we are no where near ranked #1 this year. I personally am excited about what is to come. Being the underdog is not always a bad thing and I think that UGA will surprise some folks this year.
In just a few short weeks the season will kick off and I'm predicting that UGA will exceed some expectations of the professionals and have another exciting season for us loyal fans!
